RERIS 2018

January 24th 2018 | Maseru, Lesotho

Alin Radu, member of the team working on Off-Grid Systems at RLI, will represent the institute at the Africa-EU Renewable Energy Research and Innovation Symposium (RERIS) 2018 in Maseru, Lesotho. Alin will present the paper “Remote sensing techniques for village identification: Improved electrification planning for Zambia”, which was co-authored by Catherina Cader, Paul Bertheau, and Philipp Blechinger. The contribution describes a method for using open satellite data as a tool for identifying and localizing remote villages without access to electricity. These results have been developed by Alin in context of a six-month internship at RLI.

The symposium is part of the International Science and Technology Innovation Conference and Expo  at the National University of Lesotho.
