08. – 09.11. | 6th Annual Meeting of the Research Network Energy System Analysis

November 08. – 09. 2022 | Berlin

Ludwig Hülk, Editha Kötter, Mascha Richter, Jann Launer, Sarah Berendes and Christoph Muschner from the research unit Transformation of Energy Systems at RLI as well as Caroline Möller from the Off-Grid Team represent the RLI at this year’s annual meeting of the Research Network Energy Systems Analysis. RLI participants are contributing a total of eight papers to this meeting.

The network was founded in 2015 to bundle the funding activities of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection in the field of energy system analysis, to strengthen the networking of the actors and to jointly discuss impulses for the design and further development of energy system analysis. On the occasion of the energy economic consequences of the Ukraine war, the meeting is dedicated to the topic “System Analysis for a Resilient Energy System”.

Within this focus, participants of the event can choose between 19 different workshops. In addition, there will be a poster presentation and three keynote lectures in which the topic of resilience will be examined from different angles.

From the RLI side, Ludwig will hold a workshop on “Urban-rural nexus: uncertainties and robustness in energy system models” on November 8, together with Jann and two other speakers. The workshop relates to the RLI project of the same name.

On the same day, Ludwig is also a presenter at a knowledge presentation for resilient energy modeling, and on November 9, he and Christoph and others will hold a workshop on “FAIR Metadata in Energy System Analysis.” Ludwig is also contributing a poster: “Open Energy Metadata (OEMetadata): Publishing Energy Data Enriched with Ontology References.”

Caroline will give a workshop on “Planning Cellular Energy Systems with the open-plan-tool” on November 9, together with a representative of the German Solar Energy Society, and will contribute another poster presentation on this very tool. This topic is related to the RLI project open_plan.

Together with project partners of the RLI project open_MODEX, Sarah will invite to a workshop on “Model Experiments in Energy System Analysis: Findings from the MODEX Projects and Further Research Needs” and will present a poster together with Christoph and partners from the TU Munich on the following topic: “SEDOS: The Importance of Sector Integration in the Context of the Energy Transition in Germany – Data Management and Challenges”. This was developed in the context of the SEDOS project.
